Firstly, can I say… FOUR!! Wowzers! How have we got here?! How lucky are we?! Another year, another year of laughter, love, smiles and memories. We have done so much; days out, holidays, therapies, home improvements and milestones. This year is the year I have enjoyed the most, I think, mainly because it’s the year of the least medical intervention and most adventures.
A lot of people look at their children growing up with sadness, they want their children to stay babies. I just don’t understand. I feel blessed and privileged at where we are, where YOU are! You have taught me that aging and growth is an absolute blessing which only the fortunate get to experience, it is not something to be taken for granted. It a positive thing to grow and learn, to experience the next stage in life.
I am so proud of you and the little boy you have become. You are strong, resilient and determined. You make me laugh every single day with your cheeky sense of humour. I’ve never felt anyone squeeze their arms around me as tight as you do when you want a cuddle.. and I love that cuddles only finish when you decide they finish. The simple things in life please you the most and, in turn, those are the things that please you Daddy and me too. You have an enormous love for food and can spot a piece of cake in a 20 mile radius (no idea where you get that from). Your smile is infectious and I love the way you presume busy public places are just your fans out in force so you wave as we walk along.
I feel like the luckiest Mummy in the world. I love you so much. I hope you have a wonderful day and a fabulous birthday party.
Freddie, did you know, I love you the most and you’re my most favourite human ever? Maybe I’ve told you that once or twice…??!
